Mid-Summer Mardi Gras

The Krewe of Oak rolled up Oak Street for Mid-Summer Mardi Gras on Saturday, August 27, 2006. The parade was awesome, as usual. It was more festive than ever...many of us missed the festivities last year due to a little thing we call "hurrication". I personally, evacuated at noon on the day of Mid-Summer Mardi Gras last year. Don't worry, we made up for lost time. The Snake & Jake's Oak Street Posse (aka...Robin Dacey, Robin Chambless, Elaine Varnes, Karen Beninato, Jeff Beninato, Dave Clements, Louis Clements, Andrew Ledford) was costumed as doctors, nurses, and patients from the Sliver by the River Meds Center/Psych Ward.
For those of you have not had the extreme fortune to have insight into the Krewe of Oak and Mid-Summer Mardi Gras...
The Maple Leaf/Krewe of Oak traditionally parades on Mardi Gras and Mid-Summer Mardi Gras. Each year finds a new king and queen. They line-up at the Leaf and parade to Carrollton Station. Forty-five minutes later, they parade to Snake's, drink for forty-five minutes, and move on to the next bar...can't tell ya the rest of the route...I usually stick and stay at Snake's.
Elaine & I set up show outside of Snake's (in front of Marcus's house) and sold water, Schlitz, and Slivers by the River (Yaegermaester). We had a blast!!!

Evil Nurse Dacey was distributing meds for the patients.
